Update from LBG Director, Simon J Robinson - April 2017

As the first quarter of 2017 comes to a close, I have been reflecting on what we have achieved to date. LBG membership continues to grow, with over 220 companies using the LBG model globally. The latest companies to join the network include Amazon, Ashfield Healthcare, and Compass Group.

Last month I was in New Zealand where we joined forces with NZ connector, Local Works, to host an event in Auckland. A great mix of businesses and community organisations attended to learn more about local and international trends in community investment. A lively and passionate debate ensued with one attendee from the corporate sector declaring business has to be more prepared to “show its hand” in sustainability. Another fascinating feature of the evening was the live illustrations by our guest cartoonist as people presented.  Thank you to Datacom for hosting the event.

If you are lucky enough to be heading to Europe over summer (or looking for an excuse to go!) I recommend you check out Ethical Corporation’s 16th Responsible Business Summit on June 7-8. The summit is Europe’s leading CSR conference and will be attended by over 500 delegates including Unilever, eBay, WBCSD, MasterCard, Siemens, Heineken, Adobe, IKEA, PepsiCo, Vodafone. Members of LBG are entitled to a discount with the code ‘CC200’. Register to attend.

Best wishes,

Simon
